Herman Roodt

Herman originally started his insurance career with the Old Mutual in Tzaneen, South Africa in August 1988. After 10 years with the Old Mutual ending as Production Manager Herman and his wife Renet and daughter, Marisna immigrated to New Zealand. Since then he has worked hard at building his business Mutual Financial Services with loyal staff and excellent, ongoing support from his clientele. During this time he grew his team with more administrative staff and several associate advisers.

Tania Nel

Practice Manager

Tania and her family moved to New Zealand in 2007. She has years of experience as health administrator but 2 years ago decided to change to the insurance industry. She joined the Mutual Financial Services team in Dec 2017 supporting the team in their administrative duties. Tania believes that to provide real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.

Maurina du Plessis

Fire & General and Existing Business Administrator

Maurina is a farm girl raised in Springbok, South Africa. She and her family immigrated to New Zealand during April 2017.  Maurina holds a National Diploma in Public Relations and has administrative experience in the real estate market with several different agencies.  She joined MFS in May 2019 in the role of Fire & General and Existing Business administrator. She is very excited to be part of the MFS team and to gain experience in the insurance industry.  Maurina believe that quality is achieved by doing the right thing right the first (and every) time.

Alberto Glover

Sales Manager / Adviser

Alberto has been in the in Financial Services industry in South Africa since 1998. Born in Argentina, he holds an MA degree in Clinical Psychology (ARG). He also has a National Diploma in Financial Services NZQA Level 5. He has extensive experience in Life Cover, Business Buy and Sell Agreement, Key Person Cover. Investments and Saving Plans. He also specialises in Full Financial Planning for individuals and Company Business Continuation.  “My main concern is ensuring that my clients make informed decisions based on their current situation, financial goals and affordability”

Arnold du Toit

Arnold has extensive experience in the government and insurance industries and has worked in these industries since leaving school and has owned and managed small enterprises in the past. He has been providing a variety of financial services to businesses and families in South Africa since 1982 and in New Zealand since 2002

Magda Dabkowska

Magda has a 10-years background in Customer Service and a Degree in International Hospitality Management. She became an insurance specialist to follow her mother’s footsteps and having experienced a serious illness in the family as a child, she understands the importance of having a right protection in place when life goes wrong. Passionate about working for her clients to design protection plans that fit their needs, priorities and budget. Magda prides herself in being professional, genuine and up to date with the latest products on the market.

Renata Erlank

Renate is a Registered Financial Advisor that moved to NZ in 2005. She advises clients on Family protection, Business Protection and ACC restructuring. She also holds agencies for Fire & General Insurance and Kiwisaver.
Having the right insurance in place is key when it comes to claim time. Many people are left vulnerable when tragedy strikes and the most common cause is not knowing what they are insured for. Insurance should always be customised and regularly reviewed to suit individual goals and objectives.
Renate has a holistic approach to her clients, ensuring they are covered for what they need, when they need it.
In her free time, she is kept busy on her and her husband’s lifestyle block, along with her 2 children and animals, loves fishing and she has a keen interest in property renovations. She is also completing her Diploma of Business through Massey University.

Duane Viljoen

Duane Viljoen has been in the industry since 2011. He moved to New Zealand in March of 2017 and joined the Mutual Financial Services team in April 2017. His experience includes, Life, Trauma and Disability cover, as well as Income Protection and Fire & General Insurance. He also specializes in
Business Insurance, such as Key Person Insurance and Buy and Sell agreements. Duane completed his National Qualification in wealth Management in South Africa in 2017. He advises his clients with the utmost respect and strives for service excellence and professionalism.

Grant Richardson

A born and bred Aucklander I left NZ 30 years ago for a casual sail from Los Angeles to Perth and the 1986 Americas Cup. I stayed on across the ditch in Australia where, for 28 years, I was an adviser in financial services  as well as  personal / business insurance. Marriage and family has finally brought me home to Auckland. As an RFA I am excited to be part of the MFS team and to be bringing that experience to my clients and helping them navigate the right outcomes in their wealth protection portfolio.

Rob Harpur

Tinus Vermeulen

A farm boy from Kimberley, South Africa, born and raised, Tinus Vermeulen has been in the insurance industry for over a decade. Matriculating from Boland Agricultural High in 2002, Tinus went on to study marketing in Stellenbosch. Tinus got his start working at Blaauwberg meats, in Cape Town, as a wholesale meat salesman. It was his mother who first introduced Tinus to the insurance industry; an industry that she herself had been a part of since 1993. Tinus started with Old Mutual where he was part of an award-winning team before he decided to make the move to New Zealand, the rest is history. Tinus is a Registered Financial Advisor and represents a number of New Zealand’s biggest insurance companies.

Andre Botha

Authorised Financial Adviser

Andre has worked as a Business Manager for one of the major New Zealand Banks for a period 9 years so brings a wealth of financial experience and knowledge to our business.

His strongest attribute is that he puts himself in his customer shoes before he makes a recommendation on a course of action for them. He gets a thrill from sharing his knowledge with the client so that they can also become good at looking after their own money.
